About us

Who is Brewer Medical Solutions?

We are an independent audiology equipment calibration and repair company based in Modesto, California. The company was founded by Matt Brewer, who spent 15 years calibrating and servicing audiology equipment, including at E3 Diagnostics and Natus, before going independent. Matt leads our technical work, and service is performed on-site at your practice.

More about us
Someone from your team called my practice. Was that really you?

Yes. We are introducing ourselves to hearing and balance practices across the West. Our callers ask when your equipment is due for calibration so we can contact you once, shortly before that date, with a quote. They never ask for patient information or payment details.

Why we called, and how to opt out
We already have a calibration provider. Why talk to you?

You do not have to switch to keep us on file. Some practices keep us as a second option for when their usual provider is unavailable or a quote comes in high. If you send us your last calibration invoice or certificates, we will quote against it in writing so you can compare.

Service area and scheduling

Where are you based, and do you come to my area?

We are based in Modesto, California. Practices within about a four-hour drive, including Northern and Central California and the Reno area, are on our regular routes. We also serve Southern California, the rest of Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Hawaii on scheduled route weeks.

What is a route week?

Outside our home region, we group practices in the same area onto one scheduled trip. Tell us your calibration due date and we will place you on the next route to your area.

How is travel billed?

Travel for a route week is shared across every office on that trip instead of billed to one. Your share is itemized on your quote before you approve anything.

How long does a calibration visit take?

It depends on how much equipment you have. A single audiometer typically takes about an hour. We schedule around your patients, and early-morning starts are available.

Can you calibrate all of our equipment, or all of our locations, on one schedule?

Yes. If your equipment or your offices are due in different months, we can calibrate some of it early so everything lands on one annual date. Practices with five or more locations receive 20% off calibration across every site.

Calibration

What equipment do you calibrate?

Diagnostic and screening audiometers, tympanometers and middle-ear analyzers, OAE (otoacoustic emission) systems, real-ear and hearing aid analyzers, sound-field systems, ABR (auditory brainstem response) systems, and balance equipment including VNG systems, caloric irrigators, and CDP (computerized dynamic posturography). We also verify ambient noise levels in sound booths. One exception: Vivosonic ABR systems are not calibrated in-house. We send those out for calibration and handle the arrangements for you.

All services
How often does audiology equipment need to be calibrated?

Annual calibration is the standard for audiometers and most related equipment. We calibrate to current ANSI specifications and keep you on a yearly schedule with a reminder before your due date.

How do I find out when our equipment is due?

Look for the calibration sticker on each device. It shows the date of the last calibration, the next due date, or both, along with the company that did the work. Your last calibration certificate has the same information. If you cannot find either, tell us what equipment you have and we will help you work it out.

What documentation do we receive?

Each calibration is documented for your records, and your equipment is labeled with its calibration date.

Can I mail my equipment in for calibration?

Often, yes. Send-in calibration and repair are available anywhere in the U.S., and equipment comes back with its calibration label and certificate. Two limits apply: sound-field speakers have to be calibrated in place in your booth, and some audiometer calibrations need an on-site visit. Contact us first and we will tell you what can ship.

How send-in service works

Quotes

How much does calibration cost?

It depends on what equipment you have and where you are, so we quote each practice individually and in writing.

What do you need from us to prepare a quote?

Your last calibration certificates or a list of your equipment (make and model), your location, and your calibration due date. Email them to [email protected] or call us.
